West Orange Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
This year, as an owner of a family run franchise of Hardee's, I attended events of all sizes, types, and at different times of day in the role of the chairman of this Chamber of Commerce. These events attracted various and diverse industries. I did this in order to make sure I experienced what all of you experience. These opportunities and this year have given me an even greater understanding of what businesses want from our chamber and how we can and do deliver services to our members.
In the end, even though businesses and industries differ, most of us want the same things. We want opportunities to transact with one another, learn from one another, and know that the chamber has the resources and connections to address the big picture issues that impact our community today and in the future. This is what is most important to me.
I became involved with this chamber in 2003 when the Pine Hills community was looking for an organization; a champion to help support our community's initiatives. The Chamber has done that for us and helped me connect to better serve my community. Throughout this process, I have met wonderful people and these relationships have evolved into friendships.
Jim Densmore, lifetime director, is just one of those people who inspired me and got me onto the path that led me to chairman. Even though I leave behind my title as Stina's favorite 2019 Chairman, I look forward to continuing to serve and build upon wonderful partnerships and friendships. I gladly pass the title of chair, in this case Chairwoman, to Deborah Rios Barnes. She will bring an entirely new perspective to this chamber, that will lead us into a brand new decade.
Congratulations to Deborah. Joining us on the executive committee, is J.T. McWalters who will serve as our treasurer and continuing on as director of HR is Mark Marsh. Camille Evans remains, however, in the new role as the chairwoman-elect. Special thanks to Joe Alarie who will continue on the Board of Directors but will leave behind the executive committee as a past chairman. His years of service have truly helped to build and brand this Chamber.
2020 will be a great year. See the 2020 Board of Directors, click here.
