Kimberly Joy Wilson was born on September 30, 1975 and passed away on October 24, 2019 at the age of 44.
She was the younger of two children and is survived by her mother Gabrielle (Wilson) Yeaple, her father Jon Wilson, her brother Todd Wilson, her sister-in-law Nicole Wilson, her niece Avery Wilson (13) and her nephew Jaxson Wilson (10). Kimberly grew up in Orlando and graduated from Winter Park High School before attending Wake Forest University – the alma mater of both of her parents. Kimberly graduated from Wake Forest in 1997 with a BA in Communication and started her professional career in California. After a few years of working in the business and advertising fields, Kimberly decided to pursue a master’s degree; graduating in 2003 with an MBA from Pepperdine University. Kimberly moved back to Florida to begin a career in marketing, but quickly realized her true passion was in helping others. She starting working with at-risk youth through Outward Bound – which ultimately led to a career change. In 2011, she completed her 2nd master’s degree by graduating from Boston University with a Master’s in Clinical Social Work. Kimberly chose to stay in Massachusetts and spent the next several years working in the fields of crisis intervention, addiction counseling and mental health. Her time in Boston included working as a Mental Health Professional at the oldest women’s prison in the country. Whether it was on the shores of New Smyrna Beach, the flats of Boca Grande or the snow-covered peaks of Mammoth Mountain, CA, Kimberly had a true love for the outdoors. Kimberly had an infectious laugh and a loving heart. She loved live music and spent countless hours “jamming out” with friends from high school, college or just strangers she met along the way. A passion of Kimberly’s was English Bulldogs; she loved her mom’s bulldogs Tyson and Kallie but was obsessed with her own bullies Bubba and Lola. Finally, although they lived on different coasts, she also truly loved her niece and nephew and was perfectly cast for the roll of silly Aunt Kimberly. Kimberly – you impacted so many lives and will be remembered and missed forever!!
